I designed this dress for my younger self, back when life was still an expectation not yet realized. Done in a peaceful blue dull satin with a chiffon overlay at the bodice, this gown has some great details. The drop waist is banded to complement the pleating of the full skirt while the pleats themselves feature insets of the satin turned to the wrong side so that a lighter blue emerges when you move. The red rose at the cleavage point is the finishing touch, delineating my youth and innocence at the time. I think I did a pretty good job designing the perfect dress for my younger self, even if it took me half a century to do it. It's a shame I can't go back and give it to her. She would have loved it!
