Tortilla chips are such a great snack! Not too filling, yet very satisfying. Yum! This slender dress is a walking advertisement for these tortilla chips, because these have no sugars or gluten to add poundage. They're pure flavor! I love the textures the chips make for this dress and wish I had fabric like this to make one for me. Wouldn't it be simply delicious?!

I'm so glad I finally figured out a way to make this dress! I love to read and wanted to have the chance to make a dress from books. However, creating the bodice was a little tricky. Today I came up with the idea to use my tiny books that I made for my granddaughters as the straps for an a-line dress. They really worked well! Such a fun (and knowledgeable!) dress to wear! *grin*
Now that autumn is coming to the Midwest, I have some beautiful fall leaves to play with under my oak tree out front. Here they make a lovely fall dress with a ruffly skirt that would be so much fun to wear! It should probably have sleeves since the days are cooler now, but I really like the off-shoulder look so I left it like it was. A little impractical, but very chic! *grin*
A friend of mine showed me some of her unusual photography. She had taken some shots of the dishes in her sink, and they turned out really well. Naturally that gave me an idea. *grin* This evening gown is very slimming with a silver bodice and a narrow white long skirt that flares out at the hem. It sounds like an awesome dress for an evening on the town, and it doesn't do too badly as a work of art as well.
My good friend Wendy has been on my mind this past week, so I decided to use her for my dress today. Here she is modeling my rust day dress from the 2010 Fashion Show. She looked so beautiful in it, and this kaleidoscope spreads her lovely smile around! Love you, girl!
Another snack, not quite as healthy as yesterday's. But sometimes, you just gotta have chocolate! I tried to carve a dress from the bar of chocolate, but it wasn't soft enough and it broke. Not to worry -- I just cut it off at the waist and used the skirt since it was still in one piece. I love to pair my chocolate with nuts, so I added a walnut bodice for this fun and delightful dress. What do you think? Isn't it delicious?
Snacking this afternoon I realized that my cauliflower florets made a lovely full skirt. So -- here it is! A gorgeous strapless white gown for a special occasion! I had fun carving the stalk of the cauliflower to create the bodice. This dress reminds me of that scene in "Seven Year Itch" when Marilyn Monroe steps on the sidewalk vent in her white dress. Way cool!
Here's my final project for my web design class! See how far my advertisement has come from the beginning? I really like how my logo character turned out. She looks like a person who knows how to have fun, and her outfit certainly bears that out. Foofy skirt, flirty bustier, and great hat -- oh, yeah! This girls's got it! I turned in my final presentation today. Hope I get an A!
I know. I know. I've done this dress before for this challenge -- and on this model. But some things bear repeating, and this dress is one of them. I love the option on Picasa to alter a photo to look really dark and gothic, and since that's the mood I was in today, this photo was simply perfect for playing around with and altering to bring out its best features. Doesn't she seem otherworldly to you? The original fairy costume -- although it makes a dramatic statement -- pales to nothing next to how it looks with this gothic touch. In this shot, my little fairy looks like a force to be reckoned with, doesn't she?
Guess what we had for dinner tonight? Yum! I made this taco dress using all the ingredients for our tacos except the cheese, because that only made the dress look sloppy instead of chic. It's a cute little brown and red (seasoned ground turkey and diced tomatoes) number destined for a good time, sitting demurely on its tortilla and a bed of greens. This is such a great dress and guaranteed to make any figure look awesome! (And wow, was it delicious!)

Denise FeltI took this challenge in the hopes of expanding my creativity as an artist. Already I'm seeing art in a new light -- as something to do for fun and not just practicality! Archives
