Today's mail was full of junk flyers. Yea! Time to play! It was fun to make something pretty out of this trash before throwing it away. And I like the print this jumble of images and text makes. This would be an interesting dress to wear. Nice and cool for summer, yet still eye-catching! *grin*

Here's my mock-up of my character logo for my online class. I chose the 2nd sketch I made since it had a wider market appeal and layered the pieces together in Photoshop from stock photos of flowers. I love the mix of pinks and purples! This dress has been extra enjoyable for me to make since these are hues I don't normally wear even though I love them. And I also really love hats, but don't look that good in them, so this was just great fun all around!
Today I made this 12 x 12" scrapbook page for my personal scrapbook so that I would remember to always go for my dreams. I used a great fairy dancer stencil to cut out my paper outfit. Didn't she turn out pretty? I just love brown with pink! I added some quotes from favorite poets and ended up with a great page. Isn't her dress awesome?
Today is my 300th day of this challenge! Wow! How the time has flown! Can't wait to see what my last 65 days will bring! Some people hate spinach, but not me. It's my favorite salad green with tons of flavor and chock full of stuff that's good for me. So today's dress is part of my salad for lunch and a homage to this great green! Hooray for spinach! And hooray for this pretty summer dress!
Remember the mod dress I designed for my mom's 60's style community choir concert in June? I finally uploaded the photo she sent me of her wearing the finished dress, and here it is! The bright pinks look a bit washed out in the photo, but overall I think it's a pretty good shot of the dress. My mom looks great in it! Very sassy sixties and pop art! Doesn't she rock?
Taking my newly-learned skills from Photoshop, I was able to dress one of my fashion silhouettes in a new outfit for the evening. I love orange and am one of those people who can wear it with confidence. This is a gorgeous design for a night out with a special someone. Done in a deep orange knit that hugs the figure, it also has a bell skirt in chiffon that flows from the thigh down to the feet. Add the prefect necklace and earrings and you'll be set. Have a ball!
My final ad for the nursery was geared toward single women of all ages. She wears a more hip and casual outfit with slim pants under a short skirt and top. This isn't a style I generally wear, but done well it looks simply awesome! And her outfit truly fits the slogan for the ad campaign: Life is good!
This was my second design for the ad, geared toward the average housewife and career woman. This logo character wears a party dress made from red, pink, and purple flowers. I really enjoyed making her bodice from a bleeding heart flower. They're so delicate and pretty. And I think a fully bloomed rose for her skirt would be perfect. What do you think?
For my online college course, I had to come up with an ad for a plant nursery. I made three designs of logo characters for the store using flowers. This one was my first design, and it was geared for the more affluent market. I really like the flow of this elegant gown made from white and purple flowers. The tropical flower used for her hat is actually one that has tiny white and purple flowers in clumps on a stem. It's very pretty and one I'd never seen before. Would I wear a dress like this one? You bet!
I love Alexander McQueen's style! His Fall 2009 fall line used a lot of cute hats and intriguing dress lines, so I just had to borrow a few for my own design ideas. Here I've taken his caftan and given it my own twist by liquifying some great colors and using them for the fabric of the dress. I would wear this caftan. They're definitely my colors and I love abstract art-to-wear! And I simply must get a hat like the one this model is wearing!
