Moon elves are highly religious, and their worship extends to every area of their lives much in the same way of the ancient Greeks. This eggplant velvet ceremonial robe with pearl trim is worn for those occasions when she is at worship. Under her robe she wears a silver crinkle silk skirt that shimmers in the moonlight. Pearls also accent her wrist and hair.

This gorgeous bathing suit with cutouts in the bodice also has an accompanying wrap skirt with train. Done in teal with black trim, it's the perfect ensemble for those moon elves who wish to swim by the light of the 3 moons of Stehreel. Moon elves are night creatures, after all.
I have been working for some time on a project for my son, James. He has created an entire world called Stehreel that is inhabited by several races of elves. He uses this world in his stories and in his RPG games that he sets up. It comes in very handy for a creative person like him to have such a world where he can play. I get to help him create the clothing for the elven women on his planet. Moon elves are blue, so this lady has a blue cast to her skin. She wears a backless rust chiffon day robe trimmed in diamonds. A diamond necklace is around her neck.
This '60's style pop art dress doesn't "pop" as much on paper as I see it doing in my mind. Brightly colored metallic studs decorate this dress on both the front and back, but they don't show up very brightly on paper. This would be such a fun dress to wear! Maybe even with a few swirls of studs coming off the main circle to add movement. What do you think?
I had so much fun designing the '60's dress for my mom that I decided to design a few more pop art dresses! I have always wanted an art dress with a lady in a hat on it. This one is really chic! Now that I have drawn it up, perhaps I'll actually make myself a dress like this. Wouldn't that be great?
I designed this pop art dress for my mother who needs a '60's style dress for a summer concert. Made of satin-backed linen, it will be lined as well. She wants short sleeves, so those will be added. I have several lovely '60's style black and hot pink fabrics to use for the panels. It promises to be a really fun dress -- both to make and to wear. We'll see if she likes the finished product!
While the girls are coloring, sometimes I join in and doodle. This dress is a result of some doodling done on a scrap of paper. My oldest granddaughter can't get enough of rainbows, so this gown was inspired by her since it incorporates all the soft hues of the rainbow in the chiffon skirt and matching coronet. The bodice is just my style and in a slightly bolder color. I like how well it works with the softer skirt. Tres fantastique!
Tonight during Family Home Evening we made peanut butter cookies for our treat and to send to Daniel on his mission. The dough turned out so smooth and creamy when the girls got done stirring it that I had to try my hand at a peanut butter cookie dough dress! Strapless like the wedding gown but with a wrapped bodice, it is done in my favorite figure-hugging style with a long drapey skirt that has a small train. I know the day will come when I attempt creating a liquid dress, but in the meantime this is a good way to prepare for it by working with a semi-liquid medium. BTW, the cookies were delicious!
This porcelain doll's gorgeous ballgown was designed with my daughter's tastes for frills in mind. It only took an hour to dress this tiny 6" doll using peach laces and ribbon. Her gown is reminiscent of the post Civil War fashions from the late 1860's and has all the lacy frills on the skirt of a true Southern Belle. Her matching bonnet would be removed before entering the ballroom, so she could be free to dance all night. This is definitely not my style of evening dress, but my daughter loved it and even begged me for the doll when she was finished. I was happy to give it to her -- and pleased that I had judged her taste so accurately! *grin*
My good friend Michele got married today, so in honor of her I made this textured rice wedding gown. The strapless bodice is thickly riced as if it were heavily beaded, but the full skirt has the rice in much sparcer amounts to imitate a lacey effect. The idea for the textures was Nadine's, so this was a joint venture. Congratulations, Michele and Daniel! May you both be prosperous and happy together!

Denise FeltI took this challenge in the hopes of expanding my creativity as an artist. Already I'm seeing art in a new light -- as something to do for fun and not just practicality! Archives
